Here goes nothing… I know I have not posted as much in the last 2 months as in the beginning, but God has given me new inspiration… And I am ready to blog more, and much more seriously about some topics… But for now, this is the post I am doing…
So when I was young, I did not have a phone or access to a computer, other than for school work.
When I became 13, I got my first phone…. Nokia 8210….

Yes, That was the phones that existed when I was a kid…
Back then Social Networking didn’t exist and we had to “GO OUT” and meet people… Scary thought that is… And I never was able to get that part done… I was always the odd one out… And still am. š
Now back then, I actually knew how to spend time with God, and I could easily listen to him, but THEN came my love for the computer… Something I work on daily these days, due to being a mobile app developer for iOS and Android…
This also unlocked a new love for surfing the net and Ā finding stuff, which ended up in Facebook… I loved it so much that some days I would literally spend my whole day just playing games and Facebook-ing on my computer… In short, I was an addict online… I didn’t really mind this due to being the kind of person who can hang out online for ages and always talk to people online… YET I WAS SCARED OF FACE TO FACE CONVERSATIONS…
Now this is a problem due to two major reasons… I am firstly built to meet people and secondly I started to avoid Christ… And I didn’t know what went wrong… I just realized that my life was busy falling apart, and that I could not cope… Then something happened that I did not understand… God gave me a second opportunity to find Him… I started searching… And that is why I kept writing songs.
I am now going to mention something which everyone moans about and I do not mind… Social Networking has its pro’s and its cons….
For one, I will not say that Social Networking is wrong… I will make the following statements though.
PRO’S:
- I believe that Social media is one of the ways of keeping in touch with your friends, especially when they are not in the same area as you.
- Also it is good for the connection of new people.
- It also helps you to be up to date with the some news from organizations…
There are CONS as well:
- One is that just accepting friends and over sharing info could cause stalking, or worse identity theft.
- People can start to spam you with messages…
- You can get addicted to the internet.
These are just a few… why do I mention these things? Is it that I am trying to scare you or just because I am a nerd or weird?
Here is why… I for long didn’t know why I exist… Yet we all have an ULTIMATE GIFT… We have received life, there is no greater gift. How we use it, does determine if our life is dull and if we hate it…. When we become addicts online, we are messing up a gift we will never have again… Yet, when we do what we love, WE LIVE IN THE ULTIMATE GIFT…
I messed up a lot in this, yet I am living in mine. I am a specialist in IT and love computers, but also to teach… Thus blogging helps me do both… Facebook keeps me in touch with my friends especially if Ā they are not in South Africa, like many of my friends in the USA… I sometimes play online games to relax, and sometimes I can get pre-occupied with the games, BUT I am brought back to why I do exist….
I will leave you with this… If social networking is your god, SHUT IT OFF… God is waiting for you, and He loves you and cares about you, and would love to spend time with you…
Ā God bless… You are called to be amazing
