Now this is something that has been on my heart for a very long time…. I have watched “The Vow” and saw how two people can fight for a marriage. Even though the one could not remember anything about the wedding… And still at the end they were together…
WHY DO WE SEE A RISING DIVORCE RATE, YET A LOWERED MARRIAGE RATE?
I have no problem with people who do marry, nor with those who do not ever marry…. I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THOSE WHO ACTUALLY DO NOT SEE THROUGH WHAT THEY COMMITTED TO….

Now I found something quite interesting… The Bible, WHICH I WILL USE AS MY GUIDE TO LIFE, has something interesting… It says:
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24NIV)
So we might say this is based on the Old Testament right?
Well I am going to have to disagree… Here is why…
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? (Matthew 19:5NIV)
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. (Ephesians 5:31 NIV)
This is no longer just based on the Old Testament AND even Jesus have said this…

So its like this one magic trick we saw that links two rings to be inseparable… Now we want to go as far as to reverse the magic trick and say divorce is fine… I have a massive problem with this… Especially because those who claim to be saved and following Christ has the same divorce rate as those who are not saved….
The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the LORD Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful. (Malachi 2:16 NIV)
I am going to make a statement which will anger many people and that I can live with… Especially because I have angered a few people and I am not planning on becoming soft as of yet… If I feel something is wrong I will voice it… And see what happens…
THE REASON THOSE WHO CLAIM TO BE SAVED AND FOLLOWING CHRIST IS THE SAME AS THE REST OF THE PEOPLE IS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW CHRIST. The reason will follow from a scripture I used and will expand now.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (Ephesians 5:31-32 KJV)
WAIT WHAT???? How did we ever miss that… This is not speaking of marriage in this scripture… THIS IS NOT A CONTRADICTION IN THE BIBLE EITHER… We are the bride and Jesus is the Bridegroom… Thus we must be subject to Christ as written in the Bible like a wife to her husband….
Now this means that marriage is not to be taken lightly… WELL, WHY ARE WE THEN MESSING IT UP, BY MARRIAGE AND DIVORCE? WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG?

Lets start seeking God, rather than to seek a wife and we will find both, but the answer will be more clear and you will love your wife more than ever before… MARRIAGE IS NOT JUST A PIECE OF PAPER, IT REQUIRES A LOT OF HARD WORK AND COMMITMENT.
Now to start getting to the end… All this is an opinion on how I feel, yet I am not married, scary…. Yeah, sorry if you thought I am sounding wise for other reasons, but this is revelation Christ gave me about marriage… And I have seen some amazing couples and some who are not struggling… I am also not saying that if you got a divorce that you are going to go to hell or something… I know a guy who had a divorce, yet he could not stop it, but had to live with it, I know he tried everything to fight and keep the marriage in tact…. I know that there is grace in various situations, and God can heal and restore this.
As for me….
I am making a declaration here today which I will stand by and I will even expand this as God lays it on my heart.
1) I will never divorce my wife, no matter what the situation. I will always fight for my marriage.
2) I will wait for my wife and only love her, I will not mess around the whole time to find a wife which is pre-mature.
3) I will keep on loving God and seeking HIM, so that my wife might remain the person I love the most.
4) I will honor my wife as my equal and when I am in need of help, I will ask her for the help and support.
5) I will love her as Christ loves the church.
6) I will protect my wife of all evil.
7) I will strife to be a Ephesians 5 kind of husband to my wife.
8) I will always Seek Christ, BEFORE AND AFTER I AM MARRIED.
9) I will comfort my wife, when she needs to be comforted.
10) I will listen when she needs to talk, and will do anything I can, to help her in all things.
On a side note: When I am with my wife, I will never make technology my life, I would rather go for a picnic with my wife, rather than to watch a movie, which to me is something I can do anytime…
The traditional vow spoken at wedding speaks about for better and for worse, richer and for poorer, etc…
This is not just when things are going well, and there is money, but also when there is no money and life feels like hell.
“Fireproof doesn’t mean the fire will never come. It means when the fire comes that you will be able to withstand it. ”― Fireproof
God bless. I believe God will teach each person on how marriage works, and how to make it work, even if it is tough…
Remember: 1 + 1 = 3, Specifically in marriage… you, your wife and Christ… This is form a song, called 1 + 1 = 3, of Melanie Steenkamp, a South African artist.
