There is this saying that I heard a few times: “Be nice to nerds, chances are you might end up working for one“
What is we rather follow what Jesus said in The Bible?
“And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31 NLT)
Wouldn’t life be more fair if we followed this… Being nice to nerds is one thing, how about a revised version of this, which will include everyone…
“Love everyone, and you will reap being loved“
Now to explain this… God says we have to love people… Not because we must but because we want to… If we love those who love us we are doing the same as everyone else… So it would be better to love those who trespass against us as well….
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?” (Matt 5:43-47 NIV)
The blessing God gives is not given because we love those who love us, but because we love those who WE BELIEVE shouldn’t be loved.
Those who would love all those around will see the fruits of their love in the people they loved, and though you might not experience love from everyone, God will show you that he loves you in your everyday life.
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.“(Psalm 23:5 NIV)
As Psalm 23 says if you are one the road of righteousness, you will have what you need and more… From here I am going to say we can look at the story in the bible of sowing… this basically says if you sow on good ground, you will reap 30,60 and 100 times what you sowed… So if you sow LOVING OTHER, GOD WILL GIVE YOU A HARVEST OF LOVE… I AM NOT SAYING PEOPLE WILL ALL OF A SUDDEN LOVE YOU… AND THAT YOU WILL NOW BECOME MR OR MRS POPULAR, but it does mean that God will show you favor in some areas, and you will have a lot when going to people who you love, not because they love you but because you loved them first…
